Trumbull County, Ohio – Game Changers and the Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation (TMHF) are proud to announce a new partnership to support students pursuing careers in innovative and impactful health and wellness fields. The newly established “Game Changers Health and Wellness Scholarship [Powered by Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation]” reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to expanding opportunity and strengthening community health across the Mahoning Valley.
The scholarship will support participants in the Game Changers organization who are pursuing post-secondary education in a wide range of health-related disciplines. While traditional medical fields remain essential, this partnership highlights the growing importance of diverse fields such as sports psychology, art therapy, physical therapy, exercise science, mental health counseling, nutrition, and other holistic and community-centered wellness careers.
“This partnership represents a meaningful investment in the future of health and wellness in our community,” said Melissa Miller, Chair of TMHF’s Scholarship Committee. “By powering this scholarship, we are not only supporting individual students, we are strengthening the pipeline of professionals who will address physical, mental, and emotional well-being in innovative ways for years to come.”
Game Changers, known for its commitment to developing leadership, character, and academic excellence among youth, has intentionally integrated this scholarship into its program model. The collaboration with TMHF ensures that participants with a demonstrated passion for health and wellness careers have access to meaningful financial support as they take the next step in their educational journeys.
“At Game Changers, our focus is on helping student-athletes grow as leaders and reach their full potential, both on and off the field,” said Michael Engram, Executive Director of Game Changers. “This scholarship strengthens our ability to support those young people as they pursue meaningful futures, including careers in health and wellness that reflect their passions, experiences, and commitment to their communities.”
The Game Changers Health and Wellness Scholarship reflects a shared commitment to supporting young people in achieving their goals while strengthening the overall well-being of the community—opening doors for student-athletes to pursue diverse career paths that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.
By combining TMHF’s longstanding commitment to community health with Game Changers’ youth development model, the partnership demonstrates how collaboration can create sustainable, forward-thinking solutions that benefit the entire region.
