Our Partners

Healthy Community Partnership

Driven by the desire to have more focus and impact with our grantmaking, CFMV began convening groups across the Valley to talk about the health and well-being of our residents differently in 2016. Utilizing the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s “Roadmaps to Health” framework, a cross-sector partnership was created to improve the health outcomes of our community. Led by a community-based  steering committee and supported by the Community Foundation and it’s supporting organizations, the Healthy Community Partnership is working to make the Mahoning Valley a place where all residents have the opportunity to live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. More information is available here.

Mahoning Valley Community Response Fund and COVID-19

Created to address pressing needs of Valley Residents, the Response Fund was initially focused on the local impact of COVID-19. Together with The Raymond John Wean Foundation and The Youngstown Foundation, CFMV created the common COVID-19 Response and Stabilization Application and leveraged joint funding to respond to requests as quickly as possible. By the end of 2020, the three foundations had jointly invested more than $2.4 million in the Mahoning Valley through 150 grants aimed at addressing both crisis response and stabilization efforts.

This Response Fund will remain in place to provide support and resources to combat future emergencies or crises.

Any Given Child, Warren, Ohio

The City of Warren, Warren City Schools, and Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS) received a grant from the Kennedy Center to implement the Any Given Child (AGC) program. AGC operates in 23 select cities across the U.S. and uses the collective impact model to develop strategies and integrate the arts into all K-8 education. CFMV represents philanthropy in the cross-sector collaborative, holding the funds for AGC Warren and providing technical assistance for the group.

Philanthropy Ohio

Philanthropy Ohio is an association of foundations, corporate contributions programs and other grantmaking organizations. Its mission is to promote leadership for organized philanthropy in Ohio and to enhance the ability of its members to fulfill their charitable goals. The Community Foundation, as a member of Philanthropy Ohio, has access to resources on innovative and best practices within the world of foundations. Those resources then benefit CFMV’s grantees and donors, as well as Valley residents.

Fund for Our Economic Future (FFEF)

Fund for Our Economic Future is a regional collaborative of funders working together to promote economic development in Northeast Ohio. FFEF funds projects promoting job growth, job access and job preparation. CFMV partners with local organizations to make a combined $100,000 investment in FFEF every three years. This gives us a seat at the table where strategies and priorities are developed and funding decisions are made. It also connects the Valley to the technical and financial resources of the Fund.
