CFMV Looking for Strong Relationship Builder to Join Team as Philanthropic Services Director

YOUNGSTOWN/WARREN, Ohio –The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is looking for an authentic relationship builder and community-connected leader to join the staff team as the new philanthropic services director.

The philanthropic services director will be responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising and stewardship program that increases charitable resources, engages with diverse individuals in the Mahoning Valley and promotes local philanthropy. Candidates should have experience building meaningful relationships across varied audiences, providing excellent customer service, as well as setting and achieving meaningful goals.

“With our current president’s upcoming retirement, and my transition into that role, we saw this as an opportunity to assess capacity and align roles with staff interests and strengths, as well as the needs of the organization,” says Casey Krell, incoming president of the Community Foundation. “That assessment resulted in the creation of this new position that is really focused on growing and supporting incoming and existing funds here at the Foundation.”

The Community Foundation recently completed a strategic plan, and this position will play an integral role in working with others to implement the strategic plan and specifically drive progress toward aligning the organization’s funding strategy with its needed growth and intended impact.

Candidates should also exhibit a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, both personally and professionally.

“This isn’t your typical nonprofit development role, but instead this position offers the opportunity to partner with a wide range of individuals, groups, companies and nonprofit agencies to help them carry out their unique philanthropic goals,” says Krell. “While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, it isn’t required, and we are really looking for someone who can build genuine relationships to move this work forward. We encourage anyone who thinks they may be interested to apply.”

The full job posting and a detailed job description can be found at www.cfmv.org/career-opportunities.

To apply, candidates should send their resume and three professional references to Casey Krell at CKrell@cfmv.org. The Community Foundation will review applications and begin interviews immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
