CFMV Increases Grant Funding for 2026

MAHONING VALLEY, Ohio — In response to increasing community needs, the boards of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and its supporting organizations (Western Reserve Health Foundation, Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation and the William Swanston Charitable Fund) have approved a one-year funding increase for 2026.

The change will allow the Foundation to provide more grant funding to more nonprofits serving the Valley. For information on the typical funding range of each grant opportunity, visit CFMV.org/grants.

“Over the past two years, community-based organizations have seen the demand for services skyrocket while at the same time facing more challenges in acquiring the necessary funding to deliver those programs. While the Community Foundation’s dollars alone can’t bridge that gap, we believe this is an important step in making sure local nonprofits continue to provide crucial support to their communities,” says CFMV President Casey Krell. “This is currently only a one-year increase, but the Foundation is committed to finding ways to provide nonprofits with the support they need.”

The increase is equal to roughly $200,000 per quarter between all CFMV quarterly funding opportunities. The change applies only to endowed funds that the boards have spending discretion over.
