Each week, the Guiding Circle of the Fund for Women and Girls selects one Woman Warrior from submitted nominations to spotlight. This week features our third honoree.
A Steady Voice for Residents During COVID-19
One woman keeps city residents informed
Appearing in press conferences, briefings, public service announcements, online townhalls, and more, Erin quickly became a source of expertise and a voice of reassurance for city residents. She continues working diligently alongside local leaders and health professionals to ensure the community has up-to-date information about the virus’ impacts. More importantly, Erin communicates to the public about how the City of Youngstown is responding to the many complex aspects of the COVID-19 crisis.
Erin is also not afraid to roll up her sleeves—after putting on gloves and a face covering of course—and stand at least six feet away from her fellow volunteers to pack and distribute food for Youngstown City School students, which has been going on since schools were closed in March.
Erin is the very definition of a Woman Warrior on the front lines of the coronavirus health crisis—courageous, collaborative, and compassionate. Not only her words, but also her actions, continue as a dedicated example for those looking for guidance and hope in these uncertain times, and it is women like her that will help our community make it through this #Together.
Check out Erin’s staff profile for more information on her background and position with the City of Youngstown.
If you know a woman doing great things during these uncertain times, please nominate her for Women Warriors today!
