YOUNGSTOWN/WARREN, Ohio – The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley announced the reopening of several internal grant cycles, including those for CFMV’s affiliated foundations. Applications are being accepted on the foundation’s new online grant portal.
The first grant deadline is Monday, April 19 at 11:59 p.m. for the below open opportunities:
- Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley-General Grant
- First Place Community Fund
- Young Philanthropist Fund
- William Swanston Charitable Fund
- Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation
- Western Reserve Health Foundation
Grant decisions should be made and notifications sent by the end of June. More information about each of the above opportunities can be found on the Apply for a Grant page of CFMV’s website at www.cfmv.org.
“We are so grateful to the other local foundations and our grantees for making the collaborative COVID-19 Response and Stabilization Application work over the past year,” said Shari Harrell, president of the Community Foundation. “But we are excited to reopen these grant cycles, and combined with the new grant software, we should be able to get more dollars quickly put work in the community.”
Many of the open opportunities will accept applications in the third and fourth quarters of the year as well, though some have only one deadline. Given the significant changes to the process and deadlines, applicants are encouraged to review all available information and to contact Community Foundation staff with questions as soon as possible.
The new online grants portal will allow applicants to save, edit and submit applications, then track the status of their proposals and file grant reports. Applicants can also use the new “copy” feature to pull content from previous applications, saving time when submitting multiple requests. This feature and others are highlighted in the Grantseeker Tutorials and Resources section of the Apply for a Grant page.
