The Persistence of Structural Racial Inequality
Thursday, October 31, 2019
2:00-5:15 PM (event flyer)

Workshop Description

The belief that systems and structures result in racially disparate outcomes in the areas of criminal justice, health, education, wealth accumulation is widely discussed in advocacy circles, but what does this mean? How do systems that appear neutral impact individual outcomes, favoring some groups over others? How do we unpack these systems and make corrections? How does rewarding merit fit into our systems? In this seminar, the presenters weave these questions into an interactive discussion that will provide opportunities to expand the way participants think about structural barriers and potential ways to remove them.
