Opera WR, Sorority Association Open Investment Centers
The Community Foundation welcomed two new component funds in the final quarter of 2014. The funds, established with a combined total of nearly $40,000, will benefit individuals and the arts in the Mahoning Valley.
Opera Western Reserve established an agency endowment fund that will help the organization fulfill its charitable goals. The initial gift, generously donated by two opera supporters, will help fund a “chair” that will support a Director of Music or Music Director / Conductor. Opera Western Reserve (which in November staged “Don Giovanni,” pictured above) hopes to inspire others to endow additional chairs to help sustain it in the future.
The Youngstown Alumnae Panhellenic Association created a scholarship fund for female undergraduate college students who are actively involved in a sorority on their campus. Eligible students must live in Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull county. The Panhellenic Association is in the process of building this fund so it will be able to offer the scholarships in the future.
Interested donors can contribute to these as well as any other funds that are component funds of the Community Foundation. A complete list of funds can be found here.
