Nominations Open for 25 Under 35 Awards

The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals (MVYP), in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley (CFMV), announced today that nominations are now being accepted for the 13th annual 25 Under 35 Awards.

The 25 Under 35 Awards honor the Mahoning Valley’s best and brightest young professionals. The 25 honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony, set for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Stambaugh Auditorium. Three honorees will be distinguished for special accolades as MVP Award winners. All honorees, including the top three, are selected based upon professional and community service categories by a committee of judges formed by MVYP and CFMV.

“The 2017 event was very well attended and I cannot wait to attend the 2018 awards ceremony,” explained Rose Shaffer Saborse, chairperson, 25 Under 35 Committee. “The event truly features the great work young professionals are doing in their career and in the community. I am very excited to find out who will be named in the top 25 this year.”

Nominees must be between the ages of 21 and 35 and may not exceed 35 years of age on August 31, 2017. Nominees must live and/or work primarily in Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull County.

Applications for the 25 Under 35 Awards are now available by visiting www.MVYPClub.com, www.cfmv.org, www.businessjournaldaily.com, or the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals Facebook page.

“This collaborative event has highlighted some of the most impressive young people from our community over the years,” said Shari Harrell, president, CFMV. “And the event culminates in support of the Young Philanthropist Fund, which serves to involve our future leaders in the important work of philanthropy. The Community Foundation is proud to help connect those two worlds and looks forward to meeting this year’s class of honorees.”

The event serves as MVYP’s primary fundraising effort aimed at building the Young Philanthropist Fund (YPF), a component fund of the Community Foundation. The fund was created in 2005 and continues introducing younger generations to philanthropy through fundraising, review of grant requests, site visits to non-profits and recommendation of grants from the fund.
